    Interesting how much the ancient mug looks like modern dog breeds. I would’ve expected them to look more wolfy.

      The domestication of wolves happened between 15000 and 40000 years ago. That mug is “only” 2400 years old.

        It’s largely because I’m not sure to what extent breeds existed in the ancient world but I suppose considering the time spans involved I shouldn’t be surprised.

    I guess for thousands of years we’ve been looking at our dogs and thinking ‘that’s kinda neat, I would like more things to remind me of you’.

    How much radically different were you expecting people living then to be? Running around at 90 kph in magical celery shoes? People living much further back were memorializing their hands on cave walls and we do much the same but with canvas and other media.
