No CGI Jabba the Hutt.
…will be shown at a theater in London this summer.
I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time
I bet we have.
[insert murder noises]
I’m sure George is totally pleased with this one.
The main motivation behind George re-releasing slightly different versions of his trilogy was always to make more money. If he gets a cut he won’t mind.
Don’t forget it was also to fuck over his ex wife who edited and imo saved the movie.
I don’t get the reluctance to just give fans what they want.
I found my holy grail thrift find of a box set a few weeks ago, and am working to digitize it for my own collection.
Like yeah, I know there were changes even before the CGI stuff - apparently there were different audio tracks and lines in some theatrical releases? - but there’s enough people who have been pretty vocal about their desire for unaltered versions. I want my original Jabba’s palace scene, I want Han Solo to shoot first, I don’t want Hayden Christiansen force ghost.
I get Lucas is an “auteur” with a vision, but I also want the shit I remember watching as a kid getting hyped for the Phantom Menace.
