minus-square@stifle867@programming.devlinkfedilink5•1 year agoThe letter x on it’s own is not a trademark AFAIK. The distinct style of letter X is what would be the trademark. Because X.com and X.org are two completely different orgs with different brand identities there wouldn’t be a problem.

The basic stylization looks pretty similar.
In so far as they are both the letter X. Otherwise they share little similarities.
They both have a bigger line and a smaller line.
And one has a distinctive and large orange loop that clearly differentiates it.
