Top level comments from accounts on other instances will be removed. ====== It has recently been brought to my attention that the lead admin of programming.dev is engaging in ongoing transphobia. You can see the conversation in question here https://programming.dev/comment/6131539 [https://programming.dev/comment/6131539] For that reason we will be defederating from programming.dev in 48 hours. There are only three communities on that instance used by small number of our users, so this won’t have a big impact, but if you are one of those users, you will need to use an alt account on another instance if you wish to access the communities.

The admin banned people for saying that calling everything transpobia isn’t the way to make you seem reasonable and all non blahaj TLC get removed by default.

    I don’t think post titles in this community should include personal bias.

    “lemmy.blahaj.zone admin announces defederation from programming.dev because of controversial comments made by their admin” would have been better and much more factual.

        Cambridge Dictionary defines “controversial” as “causing disagreement or discussion”. The admin’s comments did just that, so objectively speaking they are controversial.

              Its not a opinion, the stuff you wrote makes it seem like the blahaj admin has a case or anything besides a powertripp about a game.

                Their cause is “their website, their rules”. They really don’t need to justify what other independent websites they share content with.

                  That’s pretty idiotic in case of a federated service. you can just close registration and delete the user database so nobody can do anything “anti trans” on your instance if you act like a child on such hilariously small issues.
