Would it be a good idea to import all posts from /r/warframe into dormi.zone? (maybe using the linked scripts)

There is lots of useful information in old reddit posts and they are pretty consistently among the top google results for various Warframe-related searches

Having something like a ‘WarframeArchive’ community here which was just a copy of the subreddit would go a long way towards making this less of a painful migration if that is indeed the plan.

A good reddit alternative is needed at this point, but losing the information on the subreddit would be a massive blow to the accessibility of the game. Could that information be remade, sure. But that would still mean losing years and years of game history. While things like old redtexts and thoughts about the removal of coptering is not really relevant to the game anymore, it is still part of the history and seeing things like that lost to the mists of time is just depressing.

There are alternatives, but those are pretty much:

Make the sub read only and direct over to lemmy - if you want to affect reddit in any way is suboptimal as a lot of traffic would still go there. It would also most likely lock all of that content to the subreddit once the api changes are in effect.

Open the subreddit again - This would most likely just kill the lemmy community in it’s infancy since the vast majority would just go back to posting there

Try to use cached versions of the subreddit - This is the worst option in my mind and the one we are currently stuck with. There is no guarantee these will remain up for any prolonged period of time. And even if they are it is a clunky way to find the information you want and as much as it pains me to say it, too advanced for many.

For these reasons I believe we as a community need somewhere else to find the information stored on r/warframe and the script linked in the main post seems like a good way to do that, but the caveat is that it has to happen before the api changes go into effect. This puts us on a two week deadline and with the subreddit set to private there is no way for anyone aside from the mods to actually do this. Once the information is off reddit that should be the time to ask what to do with it, but first that data has to be obtained while we still have the chance. For that reason I implore anyone with access to the subreddit to archive it now while we still can, or to open up access to someone who will. Once July 1st rolls around that will all become infinitely harder to do.
