Sure, trauma, failure, loss are bad, but lots of stuff made no sense even with extensive explanations by fans. I love Madoka, and think it communicates similiar concept much better.

I lump it with other media of that era like Matrix, Lain, Friends & Seinfeld, etc. They walked so others can run.
