In the two days since the new German government under Chancellor Friedrich Merz tightened border controls, 19 people who had applied for asylum have reportedly been turned away.
The right to asylum was put into the constitution because many victims of the holocaust where denied entry to other counties before getting rounded up and killed.
If a stranger is running down the street, chased by a guy with a blood soaked knife, would you let them in?

Edit: spelling
Many of the people coming to germany are not in danger tho. Which is a requirement for asylum.
…which is why there is a due process that applies to all asylum seekers.
Duh.
