How so? $15 bucks for a quarter sheet cake is a killer deal. They cost double these days.

14 and 88 are Nazi dogwhistles. 14 words, linked here elsewhere. and then H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 = HH = heil hitler

Not knowing about some niche thing qualifies it as a woooosh? Should it not be sometime rather obvious?

The fact that you think it’s some niche thing is a testament to the failure of the your education system, don’t blame your idiocy on , you have all the information available to you in your hand right now

This kind of USA centric thinking never fails to astonish me. Edit: He edited out where he specifically mentioned the US education system falling me. Such shady behavior.

Knowing Nazi dog whistles is not a USA centric thing, What are you even on about?

The 14 words are distinctly a USA thing (possibly anglophone). It doesn’t translate well into other languages, because the number of words changes in translation, and nazis are typically nationalistic.

Wrong for a lot of reasons as it happens, primarily that all of these supremacist groups are connected specifically by symbolism and recognizing shared rhetoric. The 14 Words are literally based on Nazi propaganda phrases.

For example, the Wiki page for it includes two photos taken in Russia with 1488:

Yeah, didn’t stop them from trying to take over Europe, so it’s definitely not an American thing but I get what you’re saying

Identifying nazis should never be niche.

The whole point of a dog whistle is so people don’t catch on. It’s not obvious until you know.

You’re phrasing it like they’re campaigning to keep the dogwhistles hidden. They just didn’t know a thing.

And yet evidently it is, and making fun of them without explaining anything doesn’t make it any less niche.

Tbf, it’s been explained a few too many times all over social media in comments that feel copy-pasted from one thread to another. Maybe that’s why they think it’s not niche?
