Day 1 of ?? of being unemployed. Every other time I’ve had something lined up before my last day, but I’m yet to even get past a recruiter. Bad time to be in IT. Hopefully it won’t last long.

There there. Idk is the best cure for meanness on reddit, kindness on Lemmy?

Probably not because we humans tend to focus on the negative. But nonetheless I hope your day improves.

Reddit is full of mean people. Stay off Reddit. (Yes I know, easier said than done, but I’m so much happier without it).

I’m sorry to hear that. :( I have a hard time when people are mean to me online too, even though they are just words from some random you don’t even know. I hope you manage to have a more chill time on here.

I’ve stopped looking at my notifications on Reddit, it’s just too anxiety inducing for me. Thankfully I’ve not had that same problem here, although I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.

      Hope you feel better.

Son broke my favourite mug. And he then threw my phone at my wrist, which hit my watch and scratched the phone screen. Yeah, its been a fun one.

Bronchitis still, yuck. I’m like dried up mostly but I’ve never been so wiped out. I also have no appetite.

Just wondering, does anyone have any interest in a community just for interesting articles? Like not news, but sort of like Metafilter.

Not bad. Usual work stuff. But I’ve also entered a conceptualization phase of possibly starting my own business. I just had a logo made, and I’m digging it.

Considering Mother Nature made the last minute decision to literally rain on our parade during the eclipse, a little peeved to say the least.

So far so good! I didn’t think I’d get to see the eclipse at work today but one of my peers swung by my desk with some viewing glasses and said “go check it out!” I don’t dig going into the office but at least I get to work with good people.

Must’ve been quite the sight! How lucky were you to see the eclipse and have such lovely co-workers 😊

Scheduled two exams today. Had 4 days to prep for them, was super stressed but I managed to pass both! Going to take it easy for the rest of the week.

Last night I dreamed that I climbed into a helium-inflated rubber raft and had a nap bobbing against the ceiling of an indoor market. Good dream.

Welp, given that my radiation oncologist (I am in remission) found that I had stage 3 hypertension, I’ve had better. A trip to the ER told us that I am not in immediate danger, so it could also be worse.

Lol, nope! Since my blood work and EKG showed no organ damage, I am just under orders to call my PCP in the morning - which I did. I’ll get a cuff late today to track as well. I’m already on BP meds, have been stable for many years, and my BO was even good when I was in cancer treatment and couldn’t take my meds. This is a wait, watch, and control with normal meds scenario right now. I’m take it given the alternatives.

It’s ok so far! We are trying to stay caught up at work while understaffed. I am trying to complete a “couch to 5k” app and today I managed to get to midway through “week 4” in the app (although I just try to do it every other day or every two days, so the weeks don’t necessarily correspond). I hate running, but people say exercise is good for mental health, so I’m working on it. The running sucks but I like being able to check off the progress each time I do it lol. I’m working on trying to buy myself a smartwatch as a treat and to keep me motivated. Found a clearance deal on the model I’m interested in at a Walmart like an hour away from me lol. We’ll see if I’m able to pick it up or if it’ll be out of stock!

Minuses: Pulled a muscle in my thigh :/ it’s been super sore all day. Have had zero appetite all day, so I hope I don’t wake up ravenous in the middle of the night.

Pluses: Had fun with the eclipse. Chatted with an elderly man who joked about not being around to see the next one… I enjoy talking to older people. I miss my grandpa 😔

All things considered, not too bad I suppose. I’d say it’s a “neutral”, there hasn’t really been anything good, nor has there been anything bad - I’m just “existing” if that makes any sense at all lol.

Pretty good so far. I found the will to get some exercise in and have been rather creative as well.
