Just checked in for my flight to Portland tomorrow. Im looking forward to seeing fams (and their new puppy.)

Monday I interviewed for a new position at the same company where I work. I am super excited for the opportunity and I hope they hire me. Today we’re having a spicy food competition at work and I’m bringing some spicy edamame. I ground the chile for it last night so hopefully it turns out well.

P.S. I won second place out of two lol

Could be worse. Had to do a last minute business trip to Hong Kong, business is finished, but my flight won’t be until Friday afternoon. So I’m enjoying my mini vacation.

Finally reached second interviews for a couple of jobs after not working for about a month. They are both comparable in pay to each other and to what I’ve been making and are both remote. That’s really exciting, so I want to leave it there for now but this also means I’m just anxious about different things now…

nice good luck!! assuming IT from your instance? keep your fingers crossed for me too. trying to get into a different remote job that isn’t back to back calls without a degree hasn’t felt super likely so far 😅

Good luck! Yeah I’m in IT. I already have a third interview scheduled for tomorrow. I think they really want me, which makes sense because I feel really overqualified for the job, but they are paying me enough. But it’s temporary while someone is out on maternity leave and a couple more months to help train them on what I did. I’d rather take something with a longer duration, but the first priority is getting those paychecks coming in again. Who knows maybe they’ll be impressed enough to hire me into a different permanent position.

On the other hand I don’t really even know what the other job entails, and the interview was really impersonal and had barely any interaction beyond demonstrating my coding. I think maybe I’d rather have that one just because it seems more challenging and will keep my skills current on my resume for my next position. I’m going to be in a real conundrum if I get offered the temp job first and then get offered the other one.

For what it’s worth, I only have a two year degree in a totally different field (but too many years of experience, so that helps a lot). Anyway I’m pulling for you. Constantly being on the phone and customer-facing is a really taxing thing. I don’t think I could do it.

The dentist office is definitely my least favorite doctor/medical office to go to, but it is so worth it when that pain that has been driving you insane for months is finally over with!

I had a friend who told me his dentist recommended he had his wisdom teeth removed, and it had been over a year since he was told that. I explained to him that its best to just get it taken care of as quickly as possible and getting the appointment booked before it starts bothering him, since once that pain starts occurring it gets intense very fast - and I don’t know about other places, but there is always a very long wait time (3+ months) to get an appointment for the dentist (let alone an oral surgeon) and you do not want to have to deal with that pain for that long… nothing comes close to taking the edge off of it…

Funnily enough, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon, I’m getting some fillings done that are certainly overdue.

Been off sick almost a month now.

I’ve come to realize that when I burn out I just very quietly shut all systems down. I legit had pneumonia and laryngitis, but I’m also just realizing my job has driven me up a wall and I needed to take some time.

Yup, it creeps up on you.

I’m sending you some good juju towards your healing.
