This is partially inspired by Selkie210’s post about Warframe archetypes, because it made me wonder something: As a budding Xaku main, it’s easy to notice that they have a lot of theft/“borrowing” involved in their gameplay and backstory. Xaku has canonically taken the armor pieces of other destroyed frames (kinda like graverobbing) and reappropriated their old powers. In gameplay Xaku blatantly steals weapons from enemies with Grasp of Lohk, and some of their other abilities have a trickster-esque feel to them (particularly Accuse and Gaze).
My wondering is, why didn’t DE play into this more? I know Kullervo kinda fills the rogue archetype nowadays with the whole betrayal/cloak-and-dagger theming, but Xaku was released long before him. My initial thoughts were that DE thought a Void frame with broken-and-whole dynamics was complex enough already, or that maybe my RPG background is making me overestimate the amount of “rogue” vibe they give off. I also wasn’t playing when Xaku was released, so maybe my perspective isn’t the best one.
