We’ve jumped way ahead in release schedule last week due to Hydroid’s rework, so I’m bringing us back to it. Starters are done, but one frame that was there since the begging was skipped over. It’s time for her fiery entrance!

Release date: 2012-10-25

Abilities:
Passive: Reveling in the heat of combat, Ember gains 5% extra Ability Strength for every enemy burning with an active Heat status effect within a 50 meters radius.
Fireball - Charge and release a fiery projectile that ignites enemies on contact.
Immolation - Protect Ember with flame armor that burns stronger over time, consuming energy once its meter is at full strength. Cast again to extinguish the flame.
Fire Blast - Slam the ground to create a wave of incinerating plasma that knocks back enemies and strips their armor.
Inferno - Command a flaming comet to crash down in front of ember, engulfing enemies with a fire that can spread through their ranks.

Acquisition: Blueprint purchasable from the market, components drop from General Sargas Ruk on Tethys, Saturn.

I have very little to say about Ember. She was a frame I never really played much. By the time I graduated from CC to tanks and finally into DPS, I jumped straight into Saryn and Mesa with all the mods and arcanes I had. I do remember the old days when World on Fire (her old 4) was the easy mode map cleaner, and her passive required her to set herself on fire with map hazards!

I love Ember, she’s got it all. Energy economy with the augment that makes her #4 generate orbs, high damage reduction with #2, armor strip with #3 and all the fire going on… She’s good all around (well, unless you go for high lvl corpus missions) The resource management is satisfying and the rework was a huge success IMO.

Her #1 is the only outlier that seems kinda boring and useless, I tried replacing it with nidus’s larva to group enemies together for her #4 but it has such a short pathetic range by default lol, and its even less useful nowadays with all the CC-immune eximus units running around.

She was my favorite back before they changed her. Her fourth was called something to the effect of ‘world on fire’ and flames would just spawn within a radius that was way too generous. Overextended and other range mods combined with efficiency builds and you’d be able to run a mission seeing maybe 20 living enemies and the boss

I tried, but she’s just so very meh now. Damage is pitiful, CC is almost non-existant, she’s squishy, just no redeeming qualities. She’s the worst thing you can be in Warframe, boring.

Ember was my first frame other than the starter excalibur.

I still, wasn’t understanding how the game worked.

I just assumed that because it wasn’t the starter frame it would just be better at everything (a noob thought). And well I wasn’t that wrong, but not for the right reason.

Tho even if I have used here a bit, I quickly learned that I could farm warframes from some boss fights, and so got rhino. I dokn’t remember exactly the timing of all this.

Now mr32, I have may warframe, few are modded and ready… And ember prime is… Just there with a pile of dust waiting to get out for some low level content where I won’t use equinox.

Ember is actually much better than people give her credit for atm, obviously a lot of players are still in the reminiscence of the old World on Fire, but we now have Gyre for that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Her 1 is the subsume slot, use whatever you like. I use Condemn for shieldgate, but every other meta abilities work as well, choose your poison.

Her 2 costs 0 zero energy to cast and maintain when it’s between 50% and 89%. The percentage rise steadily, or rapidly after you cast her 4. You can drop the percentage by 20 and slow it back down by casting her 3.

Her 3 armor strips enemies and can be casted in rapid succession to quickly full strip enemies, lower the percentage on the 2, or crowd control.

Her 4 would be your main source of damage after armor stripping the entire map. The augment provides a healthy energy regen.

Essentially what you’ll do is cast 2, then cast 3 or 4 depending on the percentage or the amount of armor remaining on the enemies. Cast 1 whenever appropriate according to your personal preference of subsumed abilities.

The only issue I’ve encountered is that her armor strip doesn’t work on acolytes and bosses, other than that, I think she’s sitting at a very nice place in the current meta.

Edit: added my current build, swap out Power Drift for PSF if you prefer that. The arcanes are Energize and Molt Augmented.

Ember is my go-to frame. The immolation skill means it can be quite tanky, and the armor strip from fire blast helps kill tanky enemies.

I used to love Ember before the rework (world on fire) for mindless, easy clearing. Now I love Ember for the guage management mechanic of immolation
